About Us
MYTHOS was founded by Robert Aitken and Michael G. Clark, who together bring over five decades of experience at the forefront of creative technology in filmed arts and culture.

ROBERT AITKEN
A Scottish filmmaker, Robert’s work blends poetic storytelling with ecological and cultural themes. He is the founder of Poetic Film School and the creator of films rooted in the people and landscapes of the Highlands, including the award-winning The Dreaming Bog (2021–2023). His upcoming project, Curse o’the Myre, continues this exploration in 2026.

“I always aim to give an emotional current by humanising any technology we use. Everything we do is built on one simple premise - ‘people living in a landscape’. This is what culture is after all. I am proud of the safe and unique generative framework we’ve built to help partners and communities deepen their connections with place and people.”

MICHAEL G. CLARK

Michael is a film and computer effects specialist with 30 years of experience across camera, lighting, SFX, stunts, computer modelling, and digital design. He has produced cult features including The Planet and Dark Highlands, and brings intricate visual craftsmanship to Curse o’the Myre in 2026.

“Maintaining accuracy and consistency in any period is a fascinating challenge. Stunning visuals aren’t enough, integrity of authorship is also essential. Our meticulous research ensures every frame reflects that care, and audiences can feel it.”

Our Approach

CGI Animation, and now Generative AI, opens up exciting new ways for arts and cultural organisations to bring stories to life; from reconstructing lost places to making collections more accessible through image and sound.

At the same time, these technologies raise important questions about accuracy and interpretation, bias and representation, copyright and cultural rights, especially how we maintain authenticity and public trust.

MYTHOS helps organisations explore CGI and Generative AI creatively without losing sight of meaning, values or ethics. We work closely with curators, researchers, educators, artists and communities to ensure that everything created with AI is grounded in evidence, context and care.

Who We Work With

The rapid pace of Generative AI can feel overwhelming. We take away the stress and complexity by using clear, relatable processes that help avoid mistakes and keep people firmly in control at every stage. In this we support:

  • Museums, galleries, libraries and archives

  • Historic sites and landscapes

  • Arts and creative organisations

  • Cultural producers and broadcasters

  • Community heritage and oral history projects

MYTHOS is our own carefully developed production process that utilises unique and protected systems rather than off-the-shelf solutions. This allows us to collaborate with you to create exacting creations, or to help prepare your collections so you can safely adapt and train your own open-source systems with clear terms of use.

MYTHOS complies with the voluntary code of practise and copyright and AI.
